How to Look Put-Together on Days When You Don’t Feel It

Our mood can so easily be affected by what we’re wearing; great outfit, great mood, and vice versa – making it important to always feel confident in what we choose to wear. We all have days when we wake up late and don’t have time to think about what we’re wearing, or we simply don’t feel thrilled to be doing whatever tasks we have to do that day. For these days, it’s important to make sure to have style staples in your wardrobe that not only look good but also make you feel put-together and ready for whatever.

A classic black and white look is always a style success: plain white t-shirt tucked into fitted black trousers or, alternatively, a lightweight jumper – perfect for springtime. A favourite of mine is Brandy Melville’s Lance Sweater as it can be accessorised with layered necklaces and tucked into or left out of bottoms. I’m a fan of the kick flare style of trouser due to their slightly short, ankle grazing bottoms, meaning you can wear shoes with ankle straps alongside them. These kick flared jeans from Urban Outfitters would be perfect alongside the jumper, and for outerwear, add a simple leather jacket. They can easily be dressed up or down depending on what you’re doing that day. Add a loafer for a smart-casual look or a pair of black heels for a sophisticated overall style. I normally opt for my Dr Martens Adrian Loafers in black as they tie in the outfit perfectly.
